A FLAG-raising ceremony was held at Daventry District Council on Monday to honour Britain’s servicemen and women.
The annual Armed Forces Day is being held today (Saturday)
Daventry District Council raised its flag on Monday at the same time as councils up and down the UK.
DDC leader Cllr Chris Millar said: “Once again we are very happy to be supporting Armed Forces Day at our civic offices, and I hope people join us in recognising the fantastic efforts that our servicemen and women give in serving their country.”
The president of the Daventry Branch of the Royal British Legion Ted Sharp, who was at the event, said: “On behalf of the Royal British Legion I would encourage everyone to show their support for our armed forces at home and abroad.”
