IT IS time to get your nominations in for the Daventry District Sports Awards 2012.
The awards, which are an annual event run in the Saxon Suite at Daventry Leisure Centre, will this year be hosted by new leisure operators, Everyone Active.
The ceremony will take place on October 18 in the Saxon Suite in Daventry where 13 different coaches and sports people will be rewarded for another year of exemplary effort and achievements in the world of sport.
To celebrate the new partnership between Everyone Active and Daventry District Council a new category has been added to the awards – the Get Active award.
This award will go to someone from the community who has made a commitment to getting active and achieved significant results as to act as an inspiration to other people.
Speaking at the week of the launch, Councillor Chris Millar, Leader of Daventry District Council, said: “This is the latest in a series of events initiated by Daventry District Council and supported by Everyone Active to help build on the recognition of phenomenal sporting talent that we have in the district.
“The Daventry District Sports Awards ceremony is always very popular and is a fantastic opportunity for people to nominate the individuals and teams that have really achieved in their sports, particularly this year as we celebrate the Olympics at home.”
Nominations are now being called for and forms can be requested at various locations including Daventry District Council’s offices, Daventry Leisure Centre, local libraries and also through the Everyone Active website by following this link www.everyoneactive.com/daventrysportsawards.
