RIDING his first ever 30-mile Time Trial on Saturday, Leisure Lakes cyclist Vince Jenkins was stepping into the unknown.
But with good weather conditions in Newmarket at the Alan Shorter Memorial Event, he was able to produce an excellent result.
Finishing second in his age group the Leisure Lakes’ man averaged more than 25 mph to record a time of 1.11.03 for the 30 miles.
“I had targeted a 1.10, but three sub-24 minute tens will more than do to end the season on,” said Vince.
It’s been another good year for the Leisure lakes’ rider with championship wins in his age group at the British and Welsh 25-mile title races and then also at the Welsh and Midlands 10-mile title events.
Now it is just riding for leisure over the coming months before all the hard work starts again for fresh targets in the new year.
