There will be plenty of familiar faces coming to Heart of the Shires, Weedon, for their first ever Christmas lights switch on event.
Stars on the night will include X Factor finalist Lucie Jones, Emmerdale heartthrob and former model Kurtis Stacey, ITV Bad Girls’ Kim Taylforth, Ross ‘Numbertaker’ Mullan from CBeebies, impressionist Andy Fleming and the UK’s No.1 Dame David Rumelle.
The entire cast from the Deco theatre’s pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be switching on the shopping village’s Christmas lights on Friday 7 December, between 5 and 7pm.
BBC Radio Northampton’s Bernie Keith will host proceedings.
He said: “It’s going to be a great evening. I’m really looking forward to it.
“Heart of the Shires is a fabulous place, I love it there and the Victorian setting is the perfect place to get really Christmassy.”
Many shops will be open late and there will also be entertainment from local band, Old Joe’s Ramblers, as well as a prize draw to win four tickets to see the panto at the Deco theatre, with all proceeds going to the Air Ambulance.
The lights switch on will mark the start of events at Heart of the Shires with a cooking demonstration on December 8 and 9 with esteemed chefs from The White Hart in Flore, Northants. There will also be a best-dressed Christmas tree competition from December 1, Santa’s Grotto from December 12 and the Salvation Army on 15 December. The village is also holding a Golden Ticket prize draw when one shopper will walk away with a £250 shopping voucher.
