A LEAGUE table of the quality of primary schools across Northamptonshire has placed the county in the bottom 30 nationally.

Ofsted published the details on Tuesday, saying that in Northamptonshire 59 per cent of primary school aged pupils go to schools with a ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grade.

That puts the county just 20 places above the bottom of the table, out of 150 education authorities.

In Warwickshire that figure is 66 per cent, Oxfordshire 59 per cent and Leicestershire 68 per cent. Top of the national table was Camden in London with 92 per cent of primary places being at good or outstanding schools. Bottom of the table is Coventry with 42 per cent.
