DAVENTRY Town Council (DTC) has complained to Daventry District Council (DDC) about a consultation on the future of the town.
DTC members met last month and expressed grave concerns in relation to the consultation on the draft Daventry Settlements and Countryside Local Plan drawn up by DDC.
It follows on from a meeting held on Monday November 26, town councillors’ concerns related to the format of the document which formulated responses from a series of tick box answers that will satisfy departmental process but did not, in their view, provide quality feedback.
Members, aware that the consultation was to invite views from the local community and businesses on issues to be considered in the local plan, did not feel the consultation period to be of sufficient duration to enable a considered and constructive response.
DTC has submitted its response to questions about the town and concerns over the effectiveness of the consultation.
