The town’s motorbike festival has been saved and will go ahead in May.
The festival, which sees the town centre filled with bikes of all types and sizes, was started and run by the Daventry Business Partnership, but that folded at the end of March.
Now it has been announced that a Daventry-based firm – Unlimited Communications – has picked up the baton.
The free family friendly festival is now in its third year, and will take place on Saturday May 18 between 10.30am and 2.30pm in High Street. The day starts off just after 10am when the bikes will ride into the town centre.
There will be a real variety of motorbikes, from vintage to modern, British and beyond, plus displays and owners on hand to reveal the history of their bikes and answer questions. There will also be stalls, music, children’s rides and more.
John Silk, managing director of locally based Juice Sound & Light, one of the sponsors, said: “Having the bikes in the town creates a real buzz and I’m very excited about the festival. Last year it was great to see so many people, including new visitors.”
Chris Stanley, director of Unlimited Communications, one of the event organisers, said: “I would like to say a special thank you to all those motorcycling groups, organisations and individuals who have really got behind the event. Without their hard work, support and enthusiasm this event would not be able to take place.”
