AS the Daventry Netball League now splits into two divisions, the first match in group A proved that the matches from now on will be closer to call.
Grafton Gate and Ashmore Tornadoes were first to play.
This match was closely contested with the lead changing hands regularly.
But right at the final whistle a goal from Ashmore meant the score ended 26 all.
The next match was from division B – Fusion against DW Ladies. This was a fast-paced match and excellent shooting and defence from Fusion meant they took the win 21 to 13.
The third match of the day was G&Ts versus Hornets. This match began evenly with both teams in good form. But as the match progressed G&Ts stepped up the pace to win 24 to 15.
The final match of the day was Helix against Cummins. Helix went into an early lead with good all round play.
More accurate shooting meant Helix took their first well-deserved win of the season with a final score of 23 to 10.
Training continues in the Leisure Centre on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 8pm
