THERE’S foul play afoot in a village near you!

Guilsborough Music and Drama Society’s latest production asks its audience to turn sleuth when it presents its adaptation of Agatha Christie’s thriller Cards on the Table.

The play which has been adapted by Leslie Darbon, runs at Guilsborough Village Hall from Thursday, March 29 until

Saturday, March 31 starting at 7.30pm.

The book that was published in 1936 has been adapted for both stage and screen in the past, including on ITV’s Poirot.

Director, Pam Townsend said: “It is the first time we have attempted an Agatha Christie play and we were initially put off because it featured Hercule Poirot and nobody could top David Suchet’s portrayal. This adaptation doesn’t feature him but does have Ariadne Oliver, who is a cross between Miss Marple and Poirot!”

The play tells the story of a man who hosts a bridge game knowing his four guests have committed murder.

Pam added: “There are many people who believe that this is Agatha Christie’s best story because of the psychological aspect.

“Come along and try and find out whodunnit.”

Tickets are available now priced £7 and can be bought from Frances Scammell on 01604 740549.
