A NEW cold calling zone has been set up in Crick.
The zones, which aim to tackle doorstep crime such as distraction burglaries, has been set up with the help of the local Police Community Support Officers for the area.
It means no door to door salesmen can operate in the area and any that do can be reported to Trading Standards.
Inspector Paul Valentine of the Daventry Safer Community Team said: “It is an unusual one for us as normally there would be lots of incidents which would lead to setting this up. However, here we have put one in place because there are a lot of vulnerable and elderly residents in the village who need protection.”
