DAVENTRY Golf Club’s annual meeting heard Mike Anderson announce this would be his last one as president as he was retiring after 10 years in office.
Secretary Colin Long also announced he was retiring from his position.
Treasurer Bill Partis, in his report, stated that 2011 had been a better year for the club although the current economic climate was still bleak.
The president thanked the treasurer for all the work he had done for the club.
Captain Nigel Perry thanked Mike Anderson for his stirling efforts for the club over the years and Colin Long for his commitment to the club.
The election of officers for 2012 was: President, Ray Lewis; vice-president, Colin Long; secretary, Nigel Perry; treasurer, Bill Partis; club captain, Chris Eveleigh; vice-captain, John Hunter; lady captain, Sue Lewis; lady vice-captain, Jean Poolton.
Mike Anderson presented Ray Lewis with his president’s tie and Ray Lewis presented Mike Anderson with his past president’s tie.
Nigel Perry presented Chris Eveleigh with his captain’s tie and Chris Eveleigh presented Nigel Perry with his past captain’s tie.
Chris Eveleigh thanked Nigel Perry for inviting him to be captain and congratulated him on his year.
He hoped 2012 would be a successful year with a stronger first team squad under the leadership of Adam Tarbox. Colin Long presented Mike Anderson with a commemorative book in appreciation of his services to the club.
