A NEW speed limit may be introduced on two Daventry streets after concerns were raised by neighbours.
At present the speed limit on Morning Star Road and Flying Dutchman Way stands at 40mph despite them both being residential streets.
After being contacted by residents, Cllr Chris Long, who represents Daventry West on Northamptonshire County Council (NCC), has contacted NCC’s highways department and asked for the speed limits to be reduced to 20mph.
He said: “After recognising the risk to residents, especially young children, I contacted highways who visited the site to make an assessment.
“Following this the county council is now proposing to introduce a 20mph speed restriction in recognition of the requirement for additional safety measures.”
