MUSICIANS, open-air theatre and authors will be among those visiting the town as the line up for the second Daventry Arts Festival is announced.

There will be a number of events taking place from July 6 to 28 at various venues around the town centre.

Archers addicts will be in for a treat as actress Sunny Ormonde, better known to Ambridge listeners as Lillian Bellamy, will be performing with The Antonius Players, pictured left, for A Roll in the Hay who will be performing on Tuesday July 10 at 7.30pm.

The ‘cat with the loudest purr,’ Smokey, will be coming to Daventry Library at 10.30am on Sunday, July 8.

Later on the same day at the library, James Hornsby brings his one-man show Twist to the town.

It is based on the life and works of Charles Dickens.

An outdoor theatre performance of a war time take on the Shakespeare classic Much Ado About Nothing will be performed at The Abbey Junior School playing fields.

This poignant and hilarious production will fill the skies with laughter on Saturday July 14.

There will also be performances from Daventry Choral Society, Daventry Brass, open mic nights and writers’ workshops, cinema screenings, a parade and Strictly Come Dancing Daventry.
