A CLASSIC fairytale is bought to life with considerably darker overtones in the Northern Ballet’s production of Beauty and the Beast.
The story is the same but this production combines strong classical music pieces and lighting to help create a version far away from the joyful Disney film.
There is a lot of grace in this production and Ashley Dixon’s beast is the star among some excellent performers.
But there are plenty of lighter moments in the choreography which will have the first timers chuckling.
This show is a good introduction for a ballet first timer where the fantastic story is still the most important part.
